A cooperative effort among the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the USGS BRD and WRD, the project characterized surface- and ground-water flows and developed a general
water budget of the site; determined how redirected water flows
should be allocated to reflect pre-alteration conditions, including restoring
natural functions of and processes in Marsh Creek, and
avoiding damage to wetlands or property; examined how
hydrologic and biologic management activities could augment
the restoration of wetland plant communities; and characterized the changes in hydrology and wetland
ecology resulting from restoration activities.

Ongoing work is monitoring changes to ground water and surface-water hydrology as restoration projects are implemented.
