Running cable. Steve Rheaume (shore), Don James (rowing), and Rick Hubbell run a 1/8 inch steel cable across the Muskegon River at Transect 27 in Stream Habitat Reach D. Steve is waiting on shore as Don maneuvers the aluminum rowboat so Rick can feed out the cable. This cable is used as a support to hold the boat fixed on the transect so that a streamflow measurement and bottom profile can be measured.
